Drawn To Life is a 2021 resident Cirque du Soleil production coming to Disney Springs, Lake Buena Vista, FL. Disney 2020 is the 50th Cirque du Soleil production since 1984 and will be the second resident show presented at Disney Springs replacing La Nouba.[1] It will be a collaborative project between Walt Disney Imagineering, Walt Disney Animation Studios, and Cirque du Soleil.[2] Drawn To Life was originally scheduled to begin previews on March 20, 2020, and premiere on April 17, 2020,[3] however, due to the outbreak of COVID-19, this has been suspended until further notice.[4][5] The show later premiered on November 18th, 2021 to coincide with Walt Disney World's 50th Anniversary.
Background[]
On December 18, 2017, Cirque du Soleil announced a brand new replacement show for La Nouba. On December 31, 2017, La Nouba had its final performance.[6]
Casting calls for Drawn To Life began in November 2018 with the announcement of previews beginning on March 20, 2020.[7]
On August 25, 2019, during the Parks Panel at the 2019 D23 Expo, the official announcement for Drawn To Life was shown. Concept art of the show and theater were displayed along with details of the show and plot. Drawn To Life will reuse the La Nouba theater for its production run and will feature new animation sequences by Eric Goldberg ( animator of Aladdin ).[8][9]
Synopsis[]
Drawn To Life will follow a young girl named Julie whose father was a Disney animator on a journey of self-discovery.[9] Julie discovered an unfinished animation left by her father, a Disney animator, and decides to finish his work.[10] The show pays homage to Disney’s history of animation.[11]

Drawn To Life will be composed by Benoît Jutras. The music will integrate Disney themes and melodies into the soundtrack of the show.[12]
